Alliance for Retired Americans Endorse Jim!

Fairfield Minuteman, Thursday, October 21, 2010

Congressmen Jim Himes came to the Fairfield Senior Center last Thursday to accept the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans. Himes addressed the lack of Social Security Cola.

Himes shared the following view: “This election is a choice about who will protect seniors or not. So, I’m thrilled to receive the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans.”

Kevin Lynch, Regional Director of the Alliance pledged the organization’s support because “Himes led the way on Wall Street Reform, has helped pass legislation to make Medicare stronger, and has promised not to take a pay increase until seniors see an increase in Social Security.”

Seniors gathered for a photo with Himes on the steps of the Senior Center on Thursday afternoon. Himes is the tallest gentleman in the back row. Standing to left in the 2nd row is First Selectman Ken Flatto and State Representative Tom Drew, also up for re-election, stands to the right, 3rd row.
