Women for Himes

Jim grew up in a single mother household with two sisters. He now lives with his wife and two daughters. Throughout his life, he has seen firsthand how women stand on the frontlines of the daily struggles of American life.

In many families, women are the primary breadwinners or contribute to a two-income household. They often navigate school systems, our health care system, and serve as the primary advocate and caregiver for our children. All too often they are paid less than their male colleagues and pay more for decent health care.

American women need leaders who will make the right choices to grow the economy with high-paying jobs open to everyone.

Jim Himes has stood as a proud advocate for women in the nation’s Capitol, ensuring better access to quality health care coverage for women, fighting encroachment on women’s reproductive rights, advocating for improved childcare options and more flexibility in the workplace, and standing for the principle of equal pay for equal work with his support of the Lily Ledbetter Act.  As our congressman, Jim will always work for progress for all women.
