Stamford, CT - Affordable housing executive, businessman and Democratic Congressional candidate Jim Himes issued the following statement today in honor of Veterans Day:
"Today, we pause as a nation to observe and remember the sacrifices of the brave men and women who have served our country in uniform.
"I join with all residents of the fourth district of Connecticut in honoring the courage and selfless commitment of our veterans, as well as those serving our country this very moment in Iraq, Afghanistan, and across the globe.
"As more of our troops hopefully return home in the near future, we have a moral obligation not just one day a year, but every day, to ensure that our returning servicemembers and their families receive the care and benefits that we as a grateful nation owe them, and that they deserve."
