Himes offers solutions, incumbent complains

BRIDGEPORT, CT - This morning, Republican Chris Shays and Democrat Jim Himes, had their first debate. While Himes consistently offered constructive solutions to pressing problems, Christopher Shays complained of media bias and substantive criticisms of his record. Shays frequently referred to an 88 page book in defense of his record. The Himes campaign issued the following response:

"Clearly, Chris Shays knows he has a lot of work to do to convince voters that he deserves reelection despite supporting George Bush on the economy and the war," said Michael Sachse, Spokesman for the Himes campaign. "Anytime you need an eighty-eight page book to convince people to vote for you after twenty-one years, your campaign is in trouble. It was particularly ugly to see Chris Shays complain of media bias. That's not the Chris Shays people have voted for in the past."
