Common Sense Gun Safety
Every day, 100 Americans are killed by guns and hundreds more are shot and injured. The effects of gun violence extend far beyond casualties, shaping the lives of millions of Americans. Inaction is unacceptable.
We must pass universal background checks while closing loopholes in the background check system, pass a bill to crack down on bump stocks, and preserve current protections against gun silencers. These are common sense reforms that cannot wait.
Other measures I support and will continue to support include no fly no buy, banning assault weapons, fully funding the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, better mental health screening before gun purchases and limited magazine sizes.
