This week’s impeachment inquiry hearings.

During last week’s stunning hearings, the House Intelligence Committee heard from dedicated public servants with deep wells of experience serving our country. Ambassador William Taylor, Deputy Assistant Secretary George Kent and former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch displayed courage and honor as they came forward to answer questions and explain what happened.

The facts are indisputable and have been corroborated. A direct connection to President Donald Trump continues to develop as we learned this was a months-long effort to get an investigation into the Bidens started. Military aid was withheld and a foreign government was extorted for Trump’s personal political gain.

I talked with Rachel Maddow last Friday night about what my committee heard from Marie Yovanovitch and other key witnesses, and about what’s coming up this week. Watch the full interview here.

As we head into more open hearings this week with Gordon Sondland, US Ambassador to the European Union, Alexander Vindman, National Security Council aide, Kurt Volker, the former US special envoy to Ukraine, and five more key witnesses, I hope you will watch the hearings broadcast live on major television networks or via live streams on social media platforms.

This is a very open and transparent process for the American public to hear from direct witnesses to Donald Trump’s abuses of power.

While this is a deeply troubling time for our country and our national security, we will continue to move forward strategically and carefully with the impeachment inquiry proceedings. No one is above the law.
